The first beta tests of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 have begun on PS5 and PS5 Pro, allowing for a comparison of graphics with the Xbox Series X version.
In flight simulators, a large draw distance is especially important - it affects the convenience of flying using visual landmarks. At this stage, the PS5 Pro noticeably lags behind XSX: Microsoft's console renders distant cities and skyscrapers beyond New York, while on the PS5 Pro, only a blurry texture of the ground is visible.
Another weak point is PSSR upscaling, already known from other games due to clarity issues. At the third minute of the video from Cycu1, strong flickering in dense vegetation on PS5 Pro is clearly visible. At the same time, both consoles suffer from low resolution ground textures.
The developers are currently only conducting a beta test, so some of the visual flaws may be fixed by the release. But it seems that we should not expect a serious leap in graphics on the PS5 Pro compared to the Xbox Series X - a powerful PC is still needed for a better picture.
Also, numerous bugs remain in MSFS 2024.
