The Netflix series "The Witcher" is often criticized for its creative decisions and deviations from the canon, but something in the fourth season has found a positive response.
Netflix recently presented a trailer for the fourth season of "The Witcher", and one of the main topics of discussion online was the grown-up Ciri. Viewers note that now the heroine, played by Freya Allan, looks literally like a living copy of the version from The Witcher 3 by CD Projekt Red.
Although the series officially relies primarily on the books of Andrzej Sapkowski, the fan community has been comparing the images of the characters with their game incarnations since the very first season, since the visual images from CD Projekt Red games are most strongly associated with the characters.
If Geralt, played by Liam Hemsworth, who replaced Henry Cavill, still raises questions and skepticism - including because, according to some viewers, the new Witcher speaks like a character from Call of Duty - then Ciri is greeted with warm comments.
A user with the nickname @yencirilla posted on Twitter/X, where he compared the visual appearance of the game and serial versions of Ciri with the caption"This is crazy". The publication quickly gained popularity, and in the comments, users note that "this is an exact copy", "a spitting image of Ciri", that they "will watch the new season only because of her" and that "at least one casting they got right."
The premiere of the fourth season of "The Witcher" is scheduled for Netflix on October 30, 2025.
