Viewers are wondering why the new Witcher talks like a character in a military shooter.
With less than a month left until the premiere of the fourth season of 'The Witcher,' Netflix has finally released the official trailer. The video promises a large-scale battle against Vilgefortz, the journey of Geralt and Yennefer, and, of course, Liam Hemsworth's debut in the lead role. However, viewers paid special attention to a line uttered by the new White Wolf:"Let's ******* move!".
According to viewers, this phrase is completely uncharacteristic of Geralt - it smacks of militaristic pathos and has nothing to do with the real Witcher.
"God... Have the creators of this series even played the game for a minute to understand how Geralt speaks and expresses emotions?"
"The Witcher fought alone most of the time because he is death himself. He doesn't shout "Let's ******** move", and he doesn't have a squad like in Call of Duty"
Although in the fourth season Geralt will indeed have to gather his own gang to find Ciri, so he will actually have a squad, as in 'Baptism of Fire.' Here, commentators criticize the mood with which Geralt is presented - as the leader of a military squad in a military shooter.
Against the backdrop of ongoing disputes surrounding Henry Cavill's replacement and the creative direction of the series, the new season begins with another wave of negativity from fans. The premiere is scheduled for October 30, and, judging by the reaction, Netflix will once again have to fight not only for viewers' attention, but also for audience trust.
