At one time, it seemed that the story of Blue Protocol from Bandai Namco had ended after the project was closed, but it received a second life.
Recently, the game returned in the format of Blue Protocol Star Resonance thanks to Tencent, which saw some potential in it.
The start was loud: the peak online exceeded 94 thousand players. For comparison, Wuthering Waves — another well-known game in the spirit of Genshin Impact — after launching on Steam, initially had an online presence of 14-16 thousand players and with the release of version 2.4 reached 32 thousand users.
However, there are certain complaints about the quality of Blue Protocol Star Resonance, the game started on Steam with "mixed reviews", about 60% of them being negative. Dissatisfied players consider the mechanics outdated and criticize monetization.
Part of the negativity is also related to the fact that players from several regions (not only Russia, but also Europe) cannot access the servers — they complain about regional restrictions: "The game does not see servers from the Russian Federation."
A user with the nickname Scott in the review noted how the attitude towards the game has changed over the years:
"In 2020, the whole village was waiting for Blue Protocol, no one was waiting for Genshin Impact. Genshin has conquered the world in 5 years, while its would-be killer buried itself. But they made a good tombstone - auto-battle and blocking of the Russian Federation."
