The Metroidvania Awaken - Astral Blade has become available in the App Store. Initially, the release was planned for September 26, but the game was released only last night. Of particular interest is the launch format itself - the project can be downloaded for free, and, judging by the information on the store page, it does not contain in-game purchases.
It is not yet known whether this is a temporary promotion or a technical error: neither Dark Pigeon Games studio nor ESDigital Games publisher have given official comments.
Awaken: Astral Blade tells the story of a girl named Tanya, whose body has undergone radical modifications as a result of scientific experiments. On behalf of her creator, she goes to Horace Island, where the local flora and fauna have turned into aggressive mutants.
The mobile version offers adapted controls, gamepad support, and the full content of the original. The developers have also reduced the amount of mandatory backtracking and added the ability to lower the difficulty level to make the game more comfortable for beginners.
