Dan Houser has added a new role to his talents - that of a book author. The book is a written adaptation of his audio podcast "A Better Paradise: Volume One (An Aftermath)".
The publisher describes the plot as follows:
"A Better Paradise" is set in the near future (2041) and revolves around Daisy's Ark, an advanced video game world developed by tech startup Tyburn Industria.
Conceived by visionary psychologist Mark Tyburn, the "Daisy's Ark" series is eventually canceled due to a series of "unexpected and disturbing results."
Ten years later, their creation refuses to remain buried, haunting those who were involved in its creation.
In "A Better Paradise", the narrative is told in the first person from several individuals, including Kurt Fischer, a former key employee of Tyburn Industria, Daisy Tyburn, Mark's daughter and the namesake of the video game world, and an artificial intelligence named NigelDave."
The book is available in print, electronic, or audio version. In any format, "A Better Paradise" combines semi-autobiographical reflections on working in the gaming industry with a fantastic narrative.
