Images of Demon’s Souls Remake from Sony Interactive Entertainment and Bluepoint Games have surfaced online, running in a new PS5 power-saving mode. Judging by the screenshots, the game may be adapted for a future PlayStation portable console.
The images were published on the Imgbb website by a ResetEra forum user with the nickname andshrew. They show that a Power Saver item has appeared in the "Display" menu, added to the game after the update. In this mode, Demon’s Souls runs at a reduced resolution and a limit of 30 frames per second, which, according to rumors, is necessary for optimization for Sony's unannounced portable system.
The PS5 settings menu is also shown, where there is now a Power Saving subsection. In it, you can enable or disable the new mode for individual games. After activation, a special icon appears on the screen, displaying which projects are running in power-saving mode.
Sony added the Power Saver function to firmware version 25.06-12.00.00 dated September 17, 2025.
According to insider Moore’s Law Is Dead, the portable PlayStation may be released in the fall of 2027 — simultaneously with the PlayStation 6 console.
