IGN has published a fresh gameplay fragment of Directive 8020, a new project from Supermassive Games, known for Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology.
The story unfolds aboard the ship "Cassiopeia," where the crew is heading to the planet Tau Ceti f — humanity's last hope for survival. The main character, Brianna Young, played by Lashana Lynch, wanders through the narrow and dark compartments of the ship until she encounters something frightening.
Supermassive is once again betting on cinematic presentation and moral choices. The developers noted that any small detail can change the course of events, and the new "breaking point" system creates even more options for plot development and endings.
The game is inspired by classic science fiction horrors like "Alien" and "The Thing." The developers promise an atmosphere of anxiety, isolation, and constant fear of the unknown.
Directive 8020 will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026.
