The third season of "One-Punch Man" started on October 12, 2025, and was once again criticized by the community. After a six-year break, fans were counting on a serious visual upgrade, but the animation by J.C. Staff still does not reach the level of the first season, created by Madhouse.

Against the background of negative reviews, Vincent Chansard, a famous animator who worked on "One Piece", "Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Castlevania", stood up for the studio.

"I think many blame J.C. Staff, but it's a little more complicated than that. Sometimes it's not the studio itself, but the production committee that manages the whole process." He stressed that the Japanese animation industry exists in extremely harsh conditions. "It's very hard for them now. J.C. Staff is a studio that is just trying to survive. Understand that the Japanese anime industry is a real hell."

Chansard also condemned the waves of bullying that fall on artists on social networks: "Attacking individual animators doesn't help. They are not the ones making the key decisions."

These words echo the comments of the director of the third season, Shinpei Nagai, who warned even before the premiere that the new season would not be able to reach the level of the original. He explained this by the realities of the industry: the studio is trying to improve working conditions and nurture young professionals, but it is extremely difficult for J.C. Staff to compete with large corporations that lure the best animators with huge fees.
