Fans will have to come to terms with the ending of the fourth season of "Stranger Things."
The creators of the series "Stranger Things", Matt and Ross Duffer, have confirmed that actor Joseph Quinn will not return to the role of Eddie Munson in the fifth season. In an interview with Empire, Matt Duffer stated that the character died definitively.
“I like that Joe is fueling the interest, but no — he’s dead. He already filmed five movies since season four, he just doesn’t have time for Stranger Things. Sadly, it’s all — Eddie is underground.”
In the fourth season, Eddie, the leader of the "Hellfire Club", sacrificed himself to help his friends in the battle with Vecna. The scene became one of the most memorable in the entire series — it was in it that Eddie performs Master of Puppets by Metallica, while the events of the finale unfold. Despite the death of the hero, many viewers continued to hope for his return.
The fifth and final season of "Stranger Things" will be released on Netflix on November 26, 2025 and will be an epic conclusion to the story.
