The long-awaited return of Jessica Jones in the series \"Daredevil: Born Again\" is just around the corner. At the New York Comic Con festival, the project's creators shared the plot details for the first time: Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum told Entertainment Weekly that Jessica will join the resistance led by Matt Murdock, who is challenging New York City Mayor Wilson Fisk.
\"The first and best idea was to bring back Krysten and make Jessica part of the resistance that Matt is building in the difficult conditions of a city controlled by Fisk.\"
According to Winderbaum, the events of \"Born Again\" take place about ten years after \"The Defenders,\" which allows for a reintroduction of the characters and the establishment of a new status quo. The producer promised viewers \"many changes and surprises.\"
Currently, three main characters from the Netflix series have already been confirmed for the second season of \"Born Again\": Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the Punisher. The fate of Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) remains uncertain, but, judging by Winderbaum's words, their return is still possible.
He also suggested that Jessica Jones might get her own project in the future—perhaps a new solo series or a special episode.
Krysten Ritter herself told Screen Rant in an interview that the new version of the series is noticeably different from the original Netflix projects—both visually and in tone. According to her, one of the key differences is the visual style.
\"The new series uses a very specific color palette that sets 'Born Again' apart from previous versions.\"
If the series \"Daredevil\" and \"The Defenders\" on Netflix relied on warm orange and brown tones, creating a gloomy atmosphere, then the new version is dominated by cold blue and gray shades—they emphasize the emotional state of Matt Murdock, who is trying to gather the fragments of his former life.
Ritter also noted that the budget and production level of the series have increased significantly. At the same time, in terms of overall tone, \"Born Again\" remains closer to the original \"Daredevil\" than to the solo show about Jessica Jones, which featured elements of black humor.
The actress added that since the finale of the third season, her character has \"many untold stories left,\" and she slightly opened the veil over Jessica's future relationship with Matt Murdock.
\"They work great together, but Jessica always has her own opinion. She won't miss the opportunity to tease him.\"
The premiere of the second season of \"Daredevil: Born Again\" will take place on Disney+ on March 4, 2026.
