Director Dan Trachtenberg has revealed that the upcoming film «Predator: Bad Blood» will not be connected to previous installments in the franchise.
The film «Predator: Bad Blood» will be a standalone story within the «Predator» and «Alien» universe. As director Dan Trachtenberg noted in an interview, the film will not require viewers to have prior knowledge of previous films and will not rely on the complex chronology of the franchise.
«We deliberately set the action far into the future. Everything that happened before has already happened before the events of “Bad Blood”. We're not trying to squeeze in between other films. I didn't want viewers to have to remember where exactly our story is located between this and that film.»
Thus, «Predator: Bad Blood» will be a kind of «fresh start» — viewers will not need knowledge of past events. The film will offer a new story of confrontation between one of the most recognizable hunters in film history and his future victims.
The main roles in the film are played by Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Gkolomatis. Fanning will play Tiya — a synthetic from the Weyland-Yutani corporation from the «Alien» universe. Gkolomatis got the role of a young Yautja named Dek, who goes on a dangerous journey to prove his worth as a hunter.
The premiere of «Predator: Bad Blood» will take place on November 7, 2025, in theaters.
