According to Nexus Point News, the "Clayface" movie, originally conceived as a standalone project in Matt Reeves' universe, will now become part of the main DCU cinematic universe, overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Previously, it was speculated that Clayface might appear in Matt Reeves' upcoming "Batman: Part 2," but now the likelihood of this has significantly decreased. Nevertheless, the integration of the character into the overall DC universe may indicate James Gunn's plans to use Clayface in other projects as well, which are part of the new DCU phase called "Gods and Monsters."
The premiere of the "Clayface" movie is scheduled for September 11, 2026. Earlier, actor Max Minghella, who plays one of the key roles, reported that the film will not be restrained in depicting body horror and will become one of the darkest DC projects with an R rating.
