Hawkeye has retired, but it is possible that viewers will see Clint Barton again.
It has been almost four years since Jeremy Renner last appeared as Clint Barton in the "Hawkeye" series, where his character was assisted by Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld. As the "Multiverse Saga" nears its conclusion, the fate of many Marvel projects remains uncertain — including a possible second season of "Hawkeye."
In an interview with ScreenRant, the actor said that a sequel to the series is still being discussed, but the final decision does not depend on him.
"It's not really up to me. The idea of a second season was definitely floated early on. We wanted to continue the story, especially in the Christmas setting, because they really love that image of New York."
In a conversation with ComicBook, the actor was asked if Clint had retired again and whether he would be ready to return for an event like "Avengers: Secret Wars."
"Yeah, he's definitely retired, but he always gets pulled back. He's a family man, so you always know where his priorities are. But as long as he's alive, he'll be back. Until they kill him, he'll be in the ranks."
Although Renner's name is not on the official list of actors for "Avengers: Secret Wars", Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has previously stated that "there are many more announcements to come." This leaves a chance that Hawkeye will still appear in one of the upcoming crossovers.
