While waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6, some people are keeping themselves busy.
While some are rewatching GTA 6 trailers, one joking blogger, Jeffery Phillips, tried to fool the system and convince the Google search engine AI that a specific function exists in the Rockstar game.
Jeffery Phillips spent about 3 months on his "challenge" and succeeded. In an interview with Polygon, he said that convincing the Google search engine's artificial intelligence system that a twerk button exists in GTA 6 was surprisingly easy:
I started [my challenge] in July and finished at the end of September. I have no idea how much time I spent on the posts, but not that much. Some days I only posted one or two posts.
The blogger once noticed that Google's AI apparently couldn't distinguish obvious jokes from the fan community on the Reddit forum from real facts about the game. He decided to take advantage of this to push a "joke fact" into the Google AI Overview.
When one of the commenters asked to confirm his statements about the "twerk button" in one of the threads on Reddit, the blogger simply replied: "Rockstar called me" — this turned out to be convincing enough, and Google AI eventually began to refer to the blogger's comment:
I was surprised that I even appeared in the AI overview [in the search engine]. Especially since I didn't even try to provide any significant or convincing evidence. I thought, at most, it would be described in the spirit of "some Reddit users think this is true." I never expected my own comments to be used as a source
