The upcoming sequel to the \"Five Nights at Freddy's\" film adaptation promises to do something with the animatronics that has never been done before in the franchise.
Director Emma Tammi, who is once again helming the filming of \"Five Nights at Freddy's 2,\" revealed at the Blumfest festival as part of New York Comic-Con 2025 that the sequel will for the first time bring the murderous animatronics out of their usual confined space and into the real world.
\"Seeing them among people is both funny and creepy. That's exactly what we were going for.\"
According to the director, the change of scenery will give the film a new lease of life and allow the characters to be revealed in a new way, while maintaining a balance of horror and black humor. The second film will be larger and more dynamic than the first, focusing on the clash of nightmare with everyday life.
The world premiere of \"Five Nights at Freddy's 2\" will take place on December 5, 2025. Universal Studios hopes to repeat the success of the original, which grossed over $270 million on a budget of just $20 million.
