An enthusiastic gamer gradually removed layer by layer.
Recently, a Minecraft player under the nickname meksanet completed a large-scale excavation of an ancient city. He started the work last year:
I always refused physical help during the excavations because I wanted it to be my own achievement, but the moral support of others helped me.
The excavations began in January 2024 and were completed in October 2025.
From the very beginning, I periodically dug layer by layer, preparing each layer for ease of work. This method allowed me to watch shows in the background without paying close attention to what was happening in the game.
As a result, meksanet's excavations took about 333 hours, the size of the quarry is 200 x 200 blocks (about 4,000,000 pieces were dug manually). He decided to put together a timelapse — the entire two-year process of excavating the ancient city was shown in 30 seconds.
