The original Ancient Wars Sparta returns.
The full version of the Ancient Wars Sparta Definitive Edition strategy is gradually moving towards release. However, some fans wanted to bring back the original version.
The developer heard the request of players asking to bring back "that very" version of Ancient Wars: Sparta — and "after two and a half years of work" he presented the free Ancient Wars: Sparta HD on Steam.
He explained that this project was originally conceived as a separate mode within Sparta DE, but due to technical limitations, it was decided to release it as a standalone game:
I want everyone to be able to enjoy this game, regardless of their financial situation. Yes, I may be losing some income, but I am not driven by money, but by the desire to revive a genre that was once great... and will definitely become great again. Of course, I also need to make a living and continue development, so the full version of the game will not be completely free. But no one will be obliged to pay - only those who want to support the project. And owners of Ancient Wars: Sparta Definitive Edition will receive a special discount.

The developer also announced a new game, Ancient Wars: History Edition, which will be available for free to owners of Sparta Definitive Edition and Medieval Crusades.
This game will combine all the content of both games into one project, adding unique features and new content. This will be the culmination of the entire Ancient Wars universe.
