Owners of the original Switch version will be able to upgrade for free.
Wube Software has announced Factorio - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. When exactly the game will be available on the new console of the "big N" is not yet known, but the developers note that they want to release it "as soon as possible", tentatively in December.
The updated version for Nintendo Switch 2 will include:
- Improved resolution: the game will run in native 1080p resolution instead of 720p. All resolutions are supported in dock mode, including 2160p (4K)
- Variable refresh rate support for the console screen
- Improved animations and high-resolution sprites
- Other visual improvements
- Faster loading
- Ability to build larger bases
- Mouse mode support
The update will be free for current Factorio owners on Nintendo Switch, but players will be able to support the developers by purchasing the Space Age add-on.
