Koei Tecmo Holdings has announced a revision of its financial forecasts for the first half of fiscal year 2025 (April–September). The company expects its profits to significantly exceed previous estimates: operating and net profits will more than double compared to previous forecasts.
The growth in indicators is associated not only with the success of the gaming division but also with strong financial investments. Sales of games from previous years turned out to be higher than expected, and advertising and outsourcing costs were lower. At the same time, the report does not yet include sales data for Ninja Gaiden 4, released on October 21.
But the decisive role was played by income not related to game production. Koei Tecmo is known for its investment strategy, which brings profits comparable to, and sometimes greater than, gaming activities. Last year, the company received about $116 million from strategic investments, which significantly improved its financial results.
The annual forecast (April 2025 – March 2026) remains unchanged. Koei Tecmo takes into account the release of several new projects, including Hyrule Warriors, Nioh 3, and Pokémon Pokopia, as well as the uncertainty of the global economy and investment market.
