Edia has entered into a licensing agreement with Takara to bring back the classic 3D fighting games of the PlayStation 1 era — the Battle Arena Toshinden series.

The project will include three games: Battle Arena Toshinden, Battle Arena Toshinden 2, and Battle Arena Toshinden 3. Platforms have not yet been named, but given the history of the franchise, a release on PS5 and possibly PS4 can be expected.

The release of the reissues is scheduled for between the 2026 and 2027 financial years, but the exact date has not yet been revealed.

The series started in 1995 and became one of the first 3D fighting games for the original PlayStation. Battle Arena Toshinden quickly gained attention but soon gave way to Tekken in popularity. Sequels — Toshinden 2 and Toshinden 3 — were released in 1996 and cemented the series' status as an important step in the development of 3D battles, influencing games such as Soulcalibur.

The fourth part, released in 1999, will not be included in the collection.
