Both updates will be available on January 15, 2026.
Nintendo has announced the 3.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as well as the Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition will be sold separately for $64.99, and the upgrade from the Switch version will cost $4.99.
The Switch 2 version will offer higher resolution graphics, mouse control, an in-game megaphone using the system's built-in microphone, 12-player multiplayer, and CameraPlay mode.
Update 3.0 will add a resort hotel managed by the Kapp’n family to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, new themed items and characters, exclusives like Slumber Island for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, and much more.
