NBA Street fans have been waiting for good news. Play by Play studio has announced NBA The Run, a 3-on-3 online game set to release in 2026, bringing players back to the asphalt courts.
Following the success of NBA 2K26, which became the best-selling game in the US in 2025, fans demanded the return of dynamic street basketball. NBA The Run promises fast-paced matches, spectacular moves, and a thrilling atmosphere. Players will visit famous outdoor courts and compete against both real NBA stars and fictional "street legends" with unique skills and vibrant personalities.
The creators emphasize that defense will be just as exciting as offense: reflexes, precision, and a sense of timing will be required for blocks, interceptions, slides, and physical collisions. Offense will allow players to showcase double alley-oops, step-back three-pointers, and spectacular dunks.
"We want every second of the match to be emotional—without pauses or lags, just pure, smooth action," the studio states.
The game will offer rollback netcode, cross-platform multiplayer, and knockout tournaments—short, dynamic matches with random rules, such as Dunkfest or Speed Round. You can play solo, controlling the entire team, or in teams of three.
