After the unsuccessful reboot in 2023, hopes for the series to return to its usual form have almost disappeared. The latest project from Volition studio failed due to not meeting player expectations, but that's not its only problem.
Fans have a reason for optimism. Chris Stockman, the author of the first Saints Row, announced that he was asked to create an idea for a prequel to the series. He said about it like this: "I was asked to come up with an idea for a Saints Row prequel!"
This means that the brand still has a chance for revival, although it is far from a full-fledged return. After Stockman presents his project, it still needs to be approved, and then a team capable of implementing the idea will be required. The main thing is that it should be a real Saints Row, and not a failed imitation.
Chris's full message looked like this:
"Guys and gals, I have good news! I was asked to come up with an idea for a Saints Row reboot! Can't say more, but my dreams about this game have become more than just dreams! Update: It's not a VR game. I'm really going back to the roots!"
