Cosplayer Anna Shakhovskaya unexpectedly transformed into a representative of the Tau race from the Warhammer 40,000 universe – the Widow of Vengeance, who is ready to move even the stars for the Greater Good.
Photographer Elena Vesania and cosplayer Anna Shakhovskaya looked into the brutal and dangerous universe of Warhammer 40,000 to introduce people to the Greater Good.
During the photo shoot, the model appeared as a representative of the Tau race (the Widow of Vengeance miniature was taken as the basis for the cosplay).
The Tau are trying to build their own empire in the war-torn galaxy of the 42nd millennium. They believe that there is no enemy that cannot be defeated with their technology, and there are no problems that their science could not solve.
The Greater Good is a utilitarian philosophy that puts the well-being and progress of society as a whole above the needs and rights of the individual. It teaches that every being is equal to others and is obliged to contribute to the prosperity of the Greater Good (and the Tau Empire).
This is a totalitarian and imperialistic ideology at its core. It is effective, progressive and offers a better life than many other factions, but the price for this is the rejection of free will, individuality and critical thinking.
