Several years ago, World of Warcraft franchise vice president Holly Longdale mentioned that Activision Blizzard had discussed the idea of releasing WoW on consoles with Microsoft.
However, game director Ion Hazzikostas has now categorically denied fan theories that the accessibility changes planned for the next expansion, Midnight, are aimed at preparing for a console release.
To be completely transparent, we have no reason to hide anything. If we were actively working on porting World of Warcraft to consoles or other platforms, we would openly say, "We are working on it. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but this is where we want to go." Right now, our focus remains on the PC experience.
