Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that "Gremlins 3" will be released on November 19, 2027. Chris Columbus, who directed the original film, will direct and produce, and Steven Spielberg will return to the project as an executive producer from his studio Amblin Entertainment.
This was announced by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav during the third quarter report, noting that "the studio is once again becoming a place where creators aspire to be."
The first "Gremlins" movie was released in 1984 and became a true pop culture phenomenon, grossing $165 million worldwide. The sequel, "Gremlins 2: The New Batch" (1990), was less successful at the box office, but has since gained cult status.
Chris Columbus has repeatedly admitted that he dreams of bringing "Gremlins" back to the big screen - and now his idea is finally coming to fruition.
