Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick summarized the latest financial quarter, in which the publisher released NBA 2K26, Borderlands 4, and Mafia: The Old Country. All three projects received attention and feedback from players, but the results varied.
NBA 2K26 sold over 5 million copies, which is tens of percent more than last year's installment. In-game purchases increased by 45%, but the publisher sees growth potential outside of North America, which has become a priority for the series.
Borderlands 4 fared weaker. Zelnick admitted that the game sold worse than expected. The problems of the first weeks scared away part of the audience, but the publisher hopes that sales will recover over time.
But Mafia: The Old Country was a real surprise. According to Zelnick, the project exceeded internal forecasts and confirmed the audience's interest in high-quality story-driven games.
