Square Enix has officially announced that its future projects will be released simultaneously on all platforms — PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2.
Previously, the company adhered to a different policy: many major releases, including Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, remained PlayStation exclusives for a long time. Now, the publisher is changing its approach.
The decision clearly shows that Square Enix no longer wants to be associated only with the Sony brand. The goal of the new strategy is to increase audience reach, increase profits, and make its games available on every platform.
It has also been confirmed that the third part of Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released simultaneously on Xbox and Switch 2, without delays.
The company is entering a new era — more open, multi-platform, and player-oriented than ever before.
