Reinforcements are coming to the aid of Grand Cathay in the Warhammer: The Old World board game. In the future, people will be able to acquire a set of miniatures containing Astromancers, an unusual familiar, shooters, and peasants. Plus, there will be a chance to get the arcane journal "Breach of the Great Bastion."
Games Workshop has not forgotten about the Warhammer: The Old World board game. During the World Championships Warhammer Preview Live! 2025 event, it presented the "Defenders of the Great Bastion" box, which is sure to please fans of Grand Cathay.
With this set, you can get 53 miniatures. To be precise, the army will be replenished with two mighty Astromancers (in foot and mounted versions) with a lyudo-raven familiar.
It will also be possible to recruit eight crane shooters with tower shields, 12 shooters with "Iron Hail" (heavy large-caliber musketoon), 30 peasants with bows and spears.
In addition, the team will release a 48-page arcane journal "Breach of the Great Bastion." It contains detailed information about the above-mentioned fighters, pieces of lore, and details regarding Grand Cathay, a chronology of the Age of Dragons, descriptions of the possessions of the Celestial Dragon Emperor, and more.
