HBO has announced the start of filming for the second season of the series \"Dune: Prophecy,\" which takes place ten thousand years before the events of the original \"Dune\" and Denis Villeneuve's films.
The series is based on the novel \"Sisterhood of Dune\" by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The story centers on two Harkonnen sisters who confront forces threatening the future of humanity and create the order later known as the Bene Gesserit.
It is known that the second season will be longer and larger in scale than the first. It is planned to have eight episodes instead of six, and new actors will also appear — Indira Varma (\"Game of Thrones\"), Ashley Walters (\"Top Boy\") and Tom Hollander (\"The White Lotus\").
Details about their characters have not yet been revealed. Varma was originally supposed to play Empress Natalya, but she had to leave the first season due to scheduling conflicts.
In addition to the new actors, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May and others will return to their roles.
