Nintendo has unveiled the debut trailer for the animated film The Super Mario Galaxy Movie — a direct sequel to "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," which grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide. The new film will expand the adventures of the iconic characters, taking viewers beyond the Mushroom Kingdom into space, where Mario and Luigi will face new challenges.
Directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic have once again helmed the project, with a script written by Matt Fogel, who worked on the first installment. Chris Pratt (Mario), Charlie Day (Luigi), Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), and Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek) are returning to their roles. The sequel will also feature Rosalina (Brie Larson) and Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie).
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to premiere on April 3, 2026, in the USA and on April 24 in Japan.
