FX channel is pleased with the collaboration with showrunner Noah Hawley.
FX has announced the renewal of the «Alien: Earth» series for a second season. The decision was part of a new long-term agreement between FX and Disney Entertainment Television with showrunner Noah Hawley, who will continue to work on the project.
FX Chairman John Landgraf noted that the collaboration with Hawley has lasted for more than ten years and has given viewers some of the best shows on the channel, including «Fargo».
«We have been honored to work with Noah for over a decade on some of the best and biggest shows on FX, and we are excited to extend our partnership into the future.»
Hawley himself emphasized that he appreciates the creative freedom that FX provides him.
«FX has always supported bold storytelling based on character. From the very beginning of working on “Fargo,” they encouraged me to take risks and follow the story wherever it led. I am excited to continue exploring the world of “Alien: Earth” with our partners, cast and crew as we begin a new chapter.»
According to FX, filming for the second season will begin in London in 2026. Hawley also confirmed that he had planned the direction of the sequel in advance in order to start production as quickly as possible after approval. He previously said that he had conceived the story for about five seasons.
