Surviving Mars was once a major success among strategy and city-building games. But the remaster Surviving Mars: Relaunched, released on November 10, was met without much enthusiasm.
Fans of the classic game expected more. According to SteamDB, the remaster gathered 4990 players at its peak. Reviews on Steam are also disappointing — the average rating is only 49% after almost 500 opinions.
Only two reviews have been published on OpenCritic — it seems Paradox didn't send copies to publications before release. It is known that Output Lag gave the game 8.5 out of 10, and ButWhyTho — 9 out of 10.
Players complain about several things. The high price is negatively evaluated — $40 in the USA and 2200 rubles in Russia. Old bugs that migrated from the original are also highlighted. They are still not fixed. Third — the visual part has hardly changed. The graphics look the same as in the original Surviving Mars, which makes many consider the remaster pointless.
Fans expected an updated experience, but got the same thing — only more expensive.
