Rumors of a multiplayer online game in Sony's post-apocalyptic Horizon universe have been confirmed. The Verge gained access to a 10-minute video with cinematic trailers, gameplay from the pre-alpha version, and developer interviews.
The game will be called Horizon Steel Frontiers. The project is being developed jointly by Sony and the Korean studio NCSoft, known for Lineage and Guild Wars. Steel Frontiers is positioned as a full-fledged MMORPG created specifically for mobile devices running iOS and Android. The game will also be released on PC.
Although Steel Frontiers will have PvP, the main focus is on cooperative hunting of mechasaurs.
NCSoft and Sony have not yet commented on the leak. The release date for Horizon Steel Frontiers is currently unknown.
