PlayStation 5 has marked five years on the market, but Sony's management assures that the console's best years are just beginning.
In an interview with the BBC, Sony Vice President Eric Lempel stated that "the best-selling game for PS5 has not yet been released." He did not specify which project he was referring to, but the phrase instantly sparked a wave of speculation among players.
Grand Theft Auto VI is the most frequently mentioned. The release was recently postponed to November 19, 2026. The series has maintained incredible performance for many years: the fifth installment has sold over 220 million copies, and each update adds new millions. Therefore, there is no doubt that the sixth installment will also be a major success.
But some analysts believe that Lempel was referring to another project — Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games, the creators of the Spider-Man series. The release is expected in the fall of 2026, and this project will be exclusive to PS5. According to forecasts, Wolverine is capable of surpassing the sales record set by Spider-Man 2.
