The first part of the final "Demon Slayer" trilogy, titled "Infinity Castle," debuted in the Chinese box office and immediately set several records.

In its first three days, the film grossed 373 million yuan (approximately $52.5 million), with $12.3 million coming from IMAX screenings. These earnings accounted for almost a quarter of China's total box office for the past weekend and have already secured the film's status as the highest-grossing Japanese release in IMAX in the Chinese market.

The film also became the second animated film in IMAX history in the country, second only to "Ne Zha Conquers the Dragon King." Given that the premiere took place on November 14 and there are still four days left in the first week, the final result is almost guaranteed to increase.

Worldwide, "Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" has grossed approximately $730 million, and the Chinese release will be a key factor in attempting to surpass the billion-dollar mark. Even if this does not happen, the film has already secured many achievements.

"Infinity Castle" has become the highest-grossing anime in history, as well as the highest-grossing Japanese film in the US box office, while also setting a number of additional records.

Until now, the title of the highest-grossing anime was held by the previous full-length part of the franchise, "Mugen Train," which grossed $507 million worldwide. The current lead allows "Infinity Castle" to confidently maintain its leadership. And yet, considering that there are still two parts of the trilogy ahead, the "Demon Slayer" franchise has probably not yet reached its peak.
