Judging by a recent post by director Kitao Sakurai, the filming process for the new Street Fighter film adaptation has come to an end. He posted an image of a clapperboard with character art on social media, which many took as a hint that the work was complete.
There is no official confirmation yet, but several actors on the project have previously reported their wrap day — their last day on set. If the information is correct, the team completed filming in a very short time: work started just over two months ago.
The plot of the film will take viewers to 1993. According to the official synopsis, Ryu and Ken, at the request of the mysterious Chun-Li, return to the World Warrior tournament. A sinister conspiracy is hidden behind the competition, which forces the heroes to face not only each other, but also their own demons.
The world premiere of Street Fighter is scheduled for October 16, 2026.
