The example of Expedition 33 may inspire other developers not to be afraid to create what they want.
The sensational Clair Obscur Expedition 33 will be presented in 12 nominations at The Game Awards 2025. For comparison, Baldur's Gate 3 had only 7 nominations.
Publishing Director of Larian Studios, Michael Douse, appreciated the success of the Sandfall Interactive studio:
There is something incredibly inspiring about a new IP [intellectual property] created by a young team and belonging to a \"dead genre,\" especially when [the game] not only exceeds all the wildest sales forecasts, but also receives the most nominations in TGA history.
According to Michael, the gaming industry is a "large empty space waiting for the next [Expedition 33] to fill it," so he encourages other developers to continue to boldly create and present their own ideas:
Perhaps this [new \"Expedition 33\"] will be your game! Don't chase trends — just create something of your own, and think about fame later.
