The list of nominees for The Game Awards 2025 has been announced, and Helldivers 2 is among them. But the game's community is clearly not thrilled.
The Arrowhead project was nominated in two categories: "Best Community Support" and "Best Community Engagement." The first assesses the overall quality of post-release support, the second assesses communication with players and response to their requests.
Although Helldivers 2 has received a number of updates since its release, fan criticism focuses on insufficient support and unclear communication. Reddit users note the team's slowness in fixing bugs and the lack of transparent plans.
Players write:
"I love Helldivers 2, but it doesn't deserve this. Lots of bugs and crashes, the balance is illogical, the PC version takes up over 100 GB, and the console version only 60 GB. \"We care about the community\" is pure corporate excuse."
"This nomination is clearly a joke. Maybe they should have received it last year, but definitely not this year."
Arrowhead faces a serious battle: No Man's Sky, Baldur's Gate 3, Fortnite, and Final Fantasy XIV are also competing in the category. The winners will be announced at the ceremony on December 12, 2025.
