Linus Sebastian believes it will be difficult for Valve to find buyers if the device costs around $600-700.
Popular tech blogger Linus Sebastian (Linus Tech Tips) said that Valve reacted coolly to his suggestion to set the price of the new Steam Machine at $500.

According to Sebastian, if the Steam Machine costs more than $600–700, Valve simply won't have the arguments to justify such a price — especially against the backdrop of the much more powerful PlayStation 5 Pro.
Steam Machine will be released in 2026 and, according to Valve, will be "six times more powerful" than Steam Deck.
Most likely, Valve will reveal the price only directly before the start of sales — in much the same way as Microsoft did with the Xbox ROG Ally X.
