The price of RAM has increased by over 150% in the last month, and experts predict that the RAM shortage will last until at least 2027.

The main reason is a sharp increase in demand from manufacturers of artificial intelligence equipment. Tech giants are buying up huge amounts of high-speed memory (primarily HBM and DDR5), which means that ordinary consumers are getting fewer chips at increasingly higher prices. Even companies previously involved in cryptocurrency are massively reorienting themselves towards AI projects, further heating up the market.

A similar increase is observed in almost all major brands — Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, and others. Chip suppliers (Samsung, SK hynix, Micron) have already sold out all stocks and are fully loaded with orders for the coming quarters.

For ordinary users and especially gamers, this means that RAM, which until recently was one of the cheapest components of a PC build, has become one of the most expensive items. Building a mid-range gaming computer with 32–64 GB of DDR5 now costs several hundred dollars more than a month ago.
