Activision continues to develop COD: Mobile and is preparing to release an alternative to the closed Warzone Mobile.
Activision has announced the arrival of a new extraction mode, DMZ Recon, in Call of Duty: Mobile. Its mechanics are based on DMZ from Modern Warfare III, but adapted for the mobile format.
In DMZ Recon, players will have to collect equipment, complete tasks, and try to get off the map alive in order to keep their loot. Activision promises larger maps, an expanded equipment system, and progress based on a risk-reward balance.
The launch of the mode will be a partial replacement for the closed Warzone Mobile. Support for this project, released in 2024, was discontinued in May 2025 due to low audience numbers.
DMZ Recon will appear in Call of Duty: Mobile on December 11, 2025. The mode will open at approximately 11:00 AM Moscow time.
