The new prequel to \"The Hunger Games\" will receive an official release in Russia.
Lionsgate has unveiled the first teaser for \"The Hunger Games: Dawn of the Reaping\" and released the first images from the upcoming prequel.
The new chapter in the franchise takes viewers twenty-four years before the events of the original \"Hunger Games\" with Jennifer Lawrence and tells the story of Haymitch Abernathy's youth — this time, the character is played by Joseph Zad (originally played by Woody Harrelson). The plot begins the morning before the Reaping for the Fiftieth Hunger Games, known as the Second Quarter Quell. In the юбилейных Games, the rules become stricter: there will be twice as many tributes — four participants from each district, forty-eight in total.
The cast includes Glenn Close, Ralph Fiennes, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Maya Hawke, Jesse Plemons, Whitney Peak, Mckenna Grace, Billy Porter, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Lily Taylor. Francis Lawrence, who directed the previous installments in the series, directed. Billy Ray wrote the screenplay, and Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are returning as producers.
The official Russian release of \"Dawn of the Reaping\" will begin simultaneously with the world premiere — November 19, 2026.
