The Silent Hill 2 adaptation will reach Russia in January 2026.

A full trailer has been released for the film "Return to Silent Hill" — an adaptation of Konami's cult horror game Silent Hill 2. Director Christophe Gans, who directed the original 2006 film, once again brings viewers back to the fog-shrouded town where the lines between the past and nightmare blur.

The film tells the story of James Sunderland (Jeremy Irvine, "Fallen"), who receives a letter from his deceased wife Mary (Hannah Emily Anderson) and travels to Silent Hill to understand how this is possible.

The trailer showcases scenes echoing the events of the original game, but hints that the adaptation will not be limited to a simple retelling. The trailer features flashbacks from the "normal" lives of the characters — before the town turned into a foggy nightmare.

The cast also includes Evie Templeton (Laura), Piers Eagan (Eddie Dombrowski), and Robert Strange (Pyramid Head). The legendary Akira Yamaoka, composer of the original series, is once again responsible for the music.

"Return to Silent Hill" will be released worldwide on January 23, 2026, and the Russian premiere will take place on January 22.
