Xbox President Sarah Bond noted in an interview that players spend more time in games with Play Anywhere support, which accelerated the company's strategy implementation. The program allows running one copy of the game on PC and consoles, which increases player activity and spending.
«We analyzed player behavior and saw that they spend 20% more time in XPA games. They spend more money and more often choose games with this feature because they can play on all devices».
Microsoft is expanding the Play Anywhere catalog by adding new games. This supports the strategy of a unified ecosystem: Windows, Xbox PC (marketing designation of Xbox games and services available on Windows PC), and consoles, increasing game accessibility and ensuring long-term revenue.
