According to Insider Gaming, the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will go on sale sooner than many expected — in mid-January 2026.
The information appeared in the latest issue of the Insider Gaming Weekly podcast. Sources close to the project confirm that Ubisoft still plans to release the remake of The Sands of Time earlier than the updated version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
In addition, according to insiders, the next showing of the game is highly likely to take place as early as December 11, 2025 at The Game Awards ceremony — it is there that the exact release date may be officially announced.
The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was announced back in 2020. Initially, the release was planned for January 2021, then it was postponed to March of the same year, and a month before the appointed date, it was postponed indefinitely. After a long silence, in May 2022, Ubisoft announced the transfer of the project to the Ubisoft Montreal studio, which completely restarted development.
