Fairy tale characters and book heroes will embark on a fight against \"office slavery\" in January 2026.
HypeTrain Digital and Sleepy Castle studio have announced the release date for the adventure RPG Escape from Ever After and presented a new gameplay trailer. The game will be released on January 23, 2026, on all current platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (Steam).
The developers directly state that the project is inspired by the classic games in the Paper Mario series and offers to lead a rebellion against the mega-corporation Ever After Inc., which absorbs fairy-tale worlds for cheap labor.
The main character, Flint Buckler, controlled by the player, must unite with his old enemy to lead the resistance against corporate tyranny and save the fairy-tale worlds from destruction.
The creators of the game promise travels through diverse worlds and settings, meetings with alternative versions of classic literary heroes, and encounters with unusual opponents.
The game features a turn-based combat system built on a combination of skills and items. Each partner has their own set of skills that can be improved. In addition to battles, in Escape from Ever After you can complete tasks for office colleagues, participate in squabbles with superiors, and even decorate your workspace.
