Aaron Paul, the star of the series "Breaking Bad" and the actor who played Robert Robertson in the recent hit Dispatch, has confirmed that he will not be returning for the fourth season of the animated show "Invincible" from Prime Video.

In the Kinda Funny Games podcast, the actor said that voicing the villain Scott Duval (Powerplex) turned out to be so emotionally difficult for him that he decided to withdraw from the project. According to Paul, he sincerely loves the series and deeply respects the team, but the role of the supervillain demanded too much from him.

“I worked on a couple of episodes, and I was invited back next season, but I have to say... I'm a huge fan of this series. I watch every episode. I love it. It's just that this role turned out to be too hard on my psyche. Too emotional. Powerplex is not just a character. There's a lot going on inside him, he's going through real torment. I completely got into his skin - and, frankly, I was uncomfortable in it. I didn't want to continue anymore... Although the team is amazing. It's just that I didn't like what this role was doing to me. I couldn't stand it.”

Since Paul directly stated that he was invited to the future season, it can be assumed that the creators had plans for the development of Powerplex. It is now unclear whether the character will appear in the sequel and who could take his place if necessary. For now, it is only known that Matthew Rhys, whose role is kept secret, as well as Lee Pace, who will voice Tragg, one of the most powerful villains in Robert Kirkman's universe, have joined the cast.

"Invincible", based on Kirkman's comic book of the same name, remains one of Prime Video's main hits and holds a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series stars Steven Yeun, Mark Hamill, Gillian Jacobs, Walton Goggins and Seth Rogen. The show has already confirmed its fourth and fifth seasons, and the premiere of the next chapter is expected in March 2026.
