Skate has faced a sharp decline in audience on Steam. In the two months since its early access release, the game has lost over 90% of its players.
At the start on September 21, the platform registered 134,901 active players, and now the peak number per day does not exceed 12,000. This confirms a sharp drop in interest, but it is worth considering that Skate is also available on PlayStation and Xbox.
Any major game sooner or later begins to lose popularity after the launch peak, when most players play it for the first time, but this is especially noticeable given Skate's ambitions as a game-service. This is not such a big problem for single-player games, but for an online game that has only just begun to develop, this is a worrying sign.
Many Skate fans considered the idea with game-service elements to be unsuccessful, which in the long term may work negatively.
